Dr. Jared Wright is originally from Southeast Texas, but he and his family are proud to now call Bulverde home. He developed an enthusiasm for dentistry at a young age after being exposed to it through an uncle who is also a dentist.
Dr. Wright received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston. Dr. Wright is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the River District Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He has made continuing education a priority in his professional career, focusing on courses in endodontics and oral surgery. During a two-year mission in Puerto Rico, Dr. Wright became fluent in Spanish, and this skill is particularly beneficial in the care of patients whose first language is Spanish.
Dr. Wright is a compassionate dentist devoted to creating a positive experience for each of his patients. Dr. Wright and his wife Melanie have five beautiful children. When Dr. Wright is not in the office, you will find him supporting the many activities in which his kids are involved. He enjoys the outdoors and early morning runs. His goal with Smithson Valley Family Dentistry is to make every patient’s comfort his #1 priority, providing the highest-quality customer service and dental care in a relaxed environment.
Heather grew up in the tiny town of Lampasas, Texas. In high school, she won her hometown beauty pageant—then left for college at 18, never to return. She says, “The part of Texas that has my heart is in the mountains of far west Texas. I love Texas, the mountains, and the desert, so it’s the best of all three!” For a time, she attended Blinn College, and at one time, she also owned her own boutique. Heather graduated with highest honors from Coastal Bend College in 2006 as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Her favorite part about working at Smithson Valley Family Dentistry is getting to know each of her patients and learning what makes each of them special. Heather is married to Brandon and they are the proud parents of Liam and MaKenna. She says, “My family is my world and I couldn’t live without them!” In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family, being outdoors spending time on the lake or in the mountains, cooking, decorating, fashion, and listening to live music.
Tricia is originally from San Antonio and lived most of her life there. She became a medical assistant at Southwest School of Business and Technical Careers before earning her Registered Dental Assistant license at San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic in 2011. She also holds certifications in Coronal Polishing (2015) and Nitrous Oxide (2016). Tricia’s favorite part of her job is getting to know her patients and helping to create great smiles. It’s important to her that patients feel more like they are at home than in a dental clinic. She really loves dentistry and feels that her seven years of experiences in the field have really shaped her as a person. She feels that “she was guided to Smithson Valley Family Dentistry to finally be part of not just a dental team, but a dental family”. Tricia has three beautiful daughters named Faith, Hope, and Love. She doesn’t have many hobbies, but she says: “Zumba is a must!” She enjoys spending time with her family on her time off going to water parks, beaches, bowling, arcades or doing different activities on the weekends.
Tara was born in Granada Hills, California and moved to Texas as a young girl. At 26, she moved back to California to be closer to family and stayed there for 16 years. Almost all of her immediate family still lives there, including her parents, who are both retired and have been married for 48 years. In early 2016, Tara returned to Texas and is thrilled to be back. She attended San Antonio Community College and graduated from Incarnate Word University’s Dental Assisting Program in 2016. Tara considers herself a people person, so her favorite part of working at Smithson Valley Family Dentistry is getting to know our great patients and their families. She empathizes with those who have dental anxiety and strives to help make every patient’s visit a positive one, hoping that will put them on the road to consistent dental care and on track to a lifetime of good oral health. In her spare time, Tara enjoys going to the movies, sharing a meal with friends and staying active. In good weather, she can be found fishing, walking her dog or taking trail rides on her bike. She loves to garden and grow fruits, vegetables, and various varieties of hot peppers. When relaxing at home, she sets up her easel and paints for hours.
